Knicks Picks Game 14: Knicks @ Bucks

Line: Knicks -2.5

When I first sent out the Bovada line to the other guys, I was fairly certain that I’d be choosing the Bucks tonight. That was until Bakeshow quickly took the Bucks and Mike made his Bucks pick with extreme confidence. Let’s just say both guys are cold right now, so if they are confident, I’m confident that they are wrong (sorry guys).

So why did I want to take the Bucks in the first place? Milwaukee plays at the second fastest pace in the league behind only the Rockets, and we know how that game turned out. The Bucks are second in the league in fast break points, a product of being third in the league at forcing turnovers (Brandon Jennings averages over 3 steals per game). The Knicks give up the fewest turnovers, but without Kidd tonight, they could struggle like they did against Brooklyn. Still, I expect Milwaukee’s fast break to be stunted tonight.

Despite the five extra possessions per game they average compared to the Knicks, they also happen to give up the fewest three-point attempts per games. Along with turnover differential, the three-point shot has been the Knicks bread and butter this season. While the Bucks take away the three-point shot, they also give up the third highest FG% between 16-23 feet at 41.4%. It’s not as efficient as a shot from behind the arc, but the Knicks, and especially Melo, are pretty good at hitting the long two. If they commit to the Felton/Chandler pick and roll, the Bockers should get some good open looks tonight.
